Newsletter #4: Our Latest Milestone, the T2M Programme, and an Upcoming Event

This newsletter issue was sent to eBeam4Therapy newsletter subscribers on 30th April 2025. To sign up, enter your details in the ‘Subscribe to Newsletter’ section on our homepage.

We will start off this issue by letting you in on some exclusive insights concerning the eBeam4Therapy laboratory, which was gearing up for its first experimental campaign just two months ago.

Next, we will look back on our time at the EIC Tech-to-Market Programme and highlight how – through a variety of events, feedback sessions, and activities – this initiative helped prepare us for our journey to market.

Finally, we will look ahead at our team’s upcoming engagements, before extending an invitation to join our ever-growing ecosystem.

We couldn’t be prouder to reveal that the new eBeam4Therapy laboratory, housed within the Weizmann Institute of Science has been finalised. Whilst this is a big enough milestone in its own regard, the lab’s completion also allows us to take the next step in our mission to revolutionise radiotherapy, that is, starting our experimental campaigns.

This achievement would not have been possible without the tireless work of our research team, who have also successfully finished the simulations of the 3D dose deposition in a phantom for different sets of electron beam parameters.

The lab – built with the primary aim of executing experimental works for eBeam4Therapy – is equipped with a vacuum chamber, where investigations into laser-plasma accelerated electrons can take place, and an optical table, on which a 50TW laser rests.

eBeam4Therapy was selected to join the EIC Tech-to-Market Programme’s (T2M) venture building route; a journey that came to an end earlier this year. That said, the benefits gained from this experience are sure to be enjoyed for years to come.

T2M includes a vast selection of activities that better prepare EIC beneficiaries to confidently embark on their journey to market. From customised training to expert-based support services, the programme employed a holistic approach to help research-minded innovators turn their technology solutions into marketable innovations.

Here are some of our own highlights from our T2M journey:

  • Tech Demo Days by EurA AG – We presented eBeam4Therapy to innovation experts and received their feedback in terms of market potential and time-to-market.
  • 1-On-1 Sessions with Marek Kotelnicki – We received tailor made advice and feedback about the feasibility and market potential of our approach.
  • The Collider’s Team Creation Activities – The Collider’s Ona Estapé helped us outline the next steps of the eBeam4Therapy journey as we set our eyes on team expansion.
  • Expert Venture Support – An array of experts let us pick their brains about a variety of key domains; from venture creation and market analysis to finance and HR.

Our next overseas trip for 2025 will see us heading to Vienna for this year’s edition of the ESTRO Congress. Themed ‘Transformative Innovation Through Partnership’, ESTRO 2025 is expected to shine a spotlight on breakthrough research and collaboration in the radiotherapy field – two vital components to the continuous evolution and refinement of radiation oncology.

The Congress will host a series of panel discussions, pitch sessions, debates, and joint sessions with partner associations in a bid to broaden outreach and encourage interdisciplinary dialogue – and with a flurry of radiation oncology professionals, researchers, industry leaders, and early-career practitioners expected to be in attendance, ESTRO 2025 will undoubtedly serve as an incubator for collaboration, feedback and networking.

Join us in the Austrian capital from 2nd to 6th May where Dr. Arnaud Courvoisier will be representing the eBeam4Therapy team. Reach out to us via LinkedIn or email us at contact@ebeam4therapy.eu to schedule a meeting with Arnaud.
